Reformer of Finland’s energy infrastructure
EXILION TUULI KY IS ONE OF FINLAND’S LARGEST DOMESTIC WIND POWER PRODUCERS AND A KEY NATIONAL PLAYER IN SLOWING DOWN CLIMATE CHANGE.
The company currently owns thirteen wind farms with a combined rated output of 380 megawatts (MW). The wind farms produce approximately one terawatt-hour (TWh) of clean, renewable energy per year. In South Karelia, Exilion Tuuli owns the TuuliMuukko wind turbines. The company is also interested in developing industrial-scale solar projects in South Karelia.
Exilion Tuuli plays a significant role in increasing Finland’s self-sufficient energy infrastructure. Finland’s goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95% by 2050. Wind power production is of key importance in reaching this target, as it increases Finland’s independence from fossil fuels.
– We aim to increase our renewable energy production to 1.33 TWh in 2025, says Tommi Riski, Investment Manager for Renewable Energy at Exilion Tuuli.
In addition to its current wind farms, Exilion Tuuli has a battery storage system and several ongoing construction and development projects. The company is constantly looking for new investment opportunities, which may include solar energy and various energy storage solutions in addition to wind power. It is also one of the reasons why Exilion Tuuli joined the Greenreality Network.
– We are interested in promoting the green transition and making investments that have a positive social impact and mitigate climate change. We actively cooperate with local operators, communities and residents in our energy projects, Riski says.
