Radiant cooling and heating systems for Würth’s logistics centre in Riihimäki

Würth, a wholesale supplier of work equipment and other technical products, is expanding and modernising its logistics centre in Riihimäki. More than one hectare of new storage space will be constructed in the two-phase contract. The storage facilities will be cooled and heated with a system manufactured and supplied by Itula. Itula’s panels and other heating and cooling system components are included in first phase of the contract, which lasts until the end of June.

Functional GEF solar power systems

GreenEnergy Finland Oy is the first in Finland to construct a solar wall, which is based on frameless double-glass solar panels and the company’s own product development, as well as a control system based on cloud services. Metsä Fibre’s Joutseno mill directs its side streams for further processing 

The side streams generated through pulp production are a valuable raw material for new products and reuse. Metsä Fibre has signed agreements with Ekokem and Kekkilä concerning the utilisation of the organic by-products of its pulp production, such as bark sand, in landscaping products and soil improvement.

Bike Week is fun for the whole family

A wide range of cycling-related events for the whole family are organised in Lappeenranta during the national Bike Week, 7–15 May 2016. The Bike Week begins on Saturday the 7h with a huge bicycle parade thatstarts at the Kansalaistori Square at 13.00 and makes its way through the city centre to the seaside by the harbour. The first junior cycling lessons, which run through the summer, will also take place during Bike Week.
